We were influenced by films such as ‘Fargo’ and ‘Pulp Fiction’ which encouraged us to think of specific ideas to improve our opening. Our main character Isabella plays a young sassy but classy villain and our opening reveals her daring and fearless nature. Isabella’s persona is comparable to Uma Thurman from Pulp Fiction which was our main influence; her sophisticated, edgy and confident personality is exactly what we wanted for our character Isabella.
As you can see in this picture of Uma Thurman (left) is wearing all black, black heels, short Black hair, red lipstick and a cigarette in her right hand. We used this theme for our character Isabella (below) as we thought it gave her a very mysterious and dangerous look. This also links to the idea of our main theme of red and black, as you notice throughout the opening.
